Who We Are
Hi, I'm Shaun Mellor, the owner of Tree Labs formerly know as Top Notch Trees and Stumps. I grew up here in Cedar Rapids, IA. After several years out west teaching primitive wilderness survival, working on organic permaculture farms, and doing small tree jobs on the side, I moved back to Cedar Rapids to help in the aftermath of the Derecho storm in 2020. Finding a new love in tree work, I founded a business to serve the area focused on trimming and removals. In 2022 I moved to Springfield, MO to work under and learn form a Master Certified Arborist. After being in Missouri for a year and a half, the love for my family and local community brought me back.
Im super excited to serve my home community with the new knowledge and skills I gained down in Missouri. I'd love to help you with any tree job big or small.

What We Do
We offer a full range of arborist services, from consultations, soil testing, soil amendments, trimming, removal, stump grinding, cabling/bracing, mulching and more. We also offer the unique service of making you a custom table out of your tree if it needs to be removed and you wish to keep some of it for years to come. We sell kiln dried, live edge slabs, and will soon sell arborist supplies as well.
